My first form of art was photography. It all started with a scratched up, outdated digital camera I found at a thrift store for $8. Initially, it was my escape. Taking pictures of old moonshine sites, horses, bourbon distilleries and other Kentucky sites that I found darkly beautiful. It wasn’t about shooting as much as it was about adventure. Having a reason to get myself out there after a good deal of time dealing with my own darkness. Within a short period of time, I was noticed by an art gallery owner and asked to do a show to be shown during the Kentucky Derby festival. That quickly led to model photography, and before I even realized what was happening, Playboy took notice and shared some of my work on their social media. It was such a big deal. ID never really been seen for anything like that. Stephanie first with a beautiful shot in an old abandoned packaging plant followed by Karah on a beautiful private island in the Caribbean. My respect for the brand grew from there and when I started sculpting, the style bled through. This piece tells a story of my travels, making beautiful art with amazing people that I love dearly. The adventure of one hell of a surreal life.
Special thanks to Suzie for allowing me to take the mold. We made magic here!
